Read some of the great things Natalie's students have been saying about her:
is easy going with a genuine smile and a sincere heart. Her enthusiasm
for photography is contagious and makes going to class a pleasure. She
is patient and encouraging; no matter how the assignment turns out in
the end, she applauds the effort, offers helpful hints and makes you believe
in your potential."
had wonderful experiences taking your classes. You were particularly effective
in removing the fear from the learning process, and replacing it with
fun. I enjoyed the hands on, experiential approach...especially the Chinatown
night shoot! The small classes allowed for a very direct and personal
approach, which I needed. The one on one training in the darkroom has
been invaluable to my growth as a photographer. THANKS!
really knows her craft! I knew I had a gift but the technical stuff boggled
me. She brought the material to me with such simplicity, humour and fun
that I soon "got it" and was shooting with confidence and skill
that I didn't have before. Sign me up for Level 2!"
knowledge and vast experience has effectively been applied to her natural
ability to teach, with a great deal of insight of her students, their
needs, and her wonderful enthusiasm for subject matter and students.
I have worked
in the film and television industry for more than 20 years but not until
I took the beginners class with Natalie Kauffman did I understand how
to take a picture with my 35 mm camera. Natalie opened the door and beckoned
us in, one by one, into the world of photography. With a quick laugh and
a supportive smile, Natalie encouraged growth in each individual in our
class. Being careful to teach by example, Natalie used our class projects
as a way to inspire not only the individual photographer but the class
as a whole. Encouraging our differences, celebrating our personal achievements
made it so much easier to absorb the wealth of information we were being
easy going, not too technical but very informative. It was relaxed, fun
and a great time. I learned a lot.
